These are various examples of stories that I posted on Class Dojo during the school year. I am able to communicate messages to the parents by posting it on my class page. Parents are able to comment and see each others replies to my post. I use this as an opportunity to remind them about upcoming events and post pictures and videos of the students for them to save. A fascinating feature of Class Dojo is that parents are able to translate the posts so there is no language or communication barrier, which is important as many of my students' parents are primarily Spanish speaking.
The above images are examples of the home-school communication in which I am able to communicate with parents in real time via instant messaging on Class Dojo. This makes me available to parents at all times of the day and it is convenient for them to message me on their own time instead of scheduling an appointment. All of my parents love this app because it allows for daily communication between them and the teacher.
The buttons above contain letters written in both English and Spanish that were given to parents and guardians at the beginning of the school year.
